Deep work

I have been reading this book named "Deep Work" found some of its lessons very useful here are some insights into this book

  • Deep work is the ability to focus on a cognitively difficult task without being distracted. It's a skill that enables you to grasp complex material fast and deliver superior results in less time.

  • Decide where you'll work and how long you'll be there.

  • Whenever we start working do the deep work, not shallow work which means we should focus on one thing entirely.

  • Quitting social media or even switching your phone to silent mode will help you concentrate on your work.
  • Breaks should be taken when you are tired, not when you are bored.

  • When learning or even beginning anything, the very first 20 hours are crucial.

  • For the first 20 hours, we must be completely concentrated.
  • Deep work hours are limited (1–4 hours per day), so choose your tasks carefully.
  • Establish a system of accountability.
  • Begin by making a schedule for your day.

  • We go through most of our days on autopilot, not paying much thought to what we're doing
